KidsPatch at Communikey Festival, Boulder

For the 2nd year in a row, KidsPatch was part of the Communikey Festival of Electronic Arts in Boulder, Colorado.

Communikey is a nonprofit comprised of DJs, musicians, promoters and multimedia artists who collaborate to create forward thinking electronic arts environments, showcasing international and local talents. Communikey events provide a creative forum for the Boulder community to explore advanced electronic music and digital arts in an intimate setting, while gaining exposure to the global organism that is new electronic music.

The workshops were organized at the The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. Through an innovative program of regional, national and international exhibition and performance, the museum inspires and educates its communities and visitors from around the world to explore the forefront and evolution of contemporary art.

More than 30 kids participated in several programs and workshops which were conducted by Lucky Dragons, KidsPatch Team and numerous volunteers of the Communikey Festival.

Doodlerz Inc
This workshop is conceived with the idea to inspire kids to explore potentials of visual expression in the spirit of collective creation, by utilizing the so-called Tagtool methodology. The Tagtool is a DIY instrument accompanied by an open-source software and is intended for live performance drawing and animation action.
Workshop with Lucky Dragons
Lucky Dragons is the experimental, multi-media, and genre-bending work created by the Los Angeles-based duo Luke Fischbeck and Sarah Rara. At the heart of it all is playing together building up social collectivities, re-engaging the wonder and impossibility of technological presence. It sounds, and looks, like simple and ancient patterns coming together and falling apart in a sincere attempt to let wires and screens and words become clear and crystal.
