Workshops at Dis-patch Festival, Belgrade

Workshops for kids with guest artists of the 9th edition of our resident Dis-patch festival - Boris Hoppek (Germany) and duo Sweatshoppe (USA). October 2010.

Boris Hoppek is a German contemporary artist based in Barcelona. His artistic roots lie in graffiti, but today his work spans across painting, photography, video, sculpture and installation art. He was the Artist in Residence of the 9th edition of the Dis-patch Festival of cutting-edge music and related arts, where he presented brand new installations, photographs and prints.

After collaborating with the duo Sweatshoppe (USA) in Denver this year, KidsPatch was proud to be able to invite them to Belgrade, also as guests of the Dis-patch festival.

Sweatshoppe is a multimedia performance collaboration between Bruno Levy and Blake Shaw, which works at the intersection of art, music and technology. The duo has developed software to construct fully interactive performances, and creates unique ways of affecting the audience - be it music, live drawing or animation and interactive video set-ups for the live stage or installations.

Boxface creation
Kids had chance to meet Boris and learn about his big love for cardboard boxes. The German street artist showed them how to make masks from the recycled cardboard.
